I have slight obsession with buying and collecting all things vintage but mostly things like hand bags, brooches, necklaces, bangles, hair scarfs, jewellery & my new craze is hats (but I only have four) for now!
It is all very well buying these lovely things BUT you have to have somewhere to put them & display them, so they look pretty in your room & don’t take over your whole house.
I’ve come up with a couple of “life hacks” I called them. That have really helped organise & tidy my room so it’s not a complete vintage messy chaos!
All my dresses get hung in wardrobe, my cardigans get folded on top shelf also there are small hand bags & two hats.
This hanging belt rack was the best thing I’ve brought in a long time. It cost me $4 from coin save. I’ve put all my belts on it except large stretchy ones. Also fits a couple of hats. Such a great idea to use wasted space on your wardrobe door. I have two more doors I can fill if I buy more hats hehe!
This mirror I purchased from the warehouse, I really liked the vintage look it had & it was on sale for about $40 I think? It had groves on top which makes as hangers so I thought what a good place to hang my shoulder bags & show them off instead of hiding in wardrobe or a draw, plus they don’t get damaged. To the right in white bag is where I keep my larger pettie coats as they take up too much room hanging in my wardrobe.
My other larger handbags sit on top of my draws looking pretty. They are easy to find & see what colour or style I want for the day. Plus they won’t get damaged sitting there & I like looking at them, they are part of my decorations for my room.
This is a new trick I’ve just created, my cane banana bag was not being used & was sitting in the lounge as a decoration. My nylon scarfs where becoming a problem as I was buying more & more there was less & less room for them in my draw. So I thought this would be a good idea to display them! It works perfectly I can find what colour I want easily & it looks pretty & tidy.
My dresser looks a lot tidier & more organised than it use to.
I use this leopard print scarf to put my brooches on, it hangs off my dresser mirror. It works fairly well, I can find my brooches easily & keeps them out of the way but still displays them nicely. I love vintage brooches I want to look at them not have them hiding in a draw or jewellery box.
My bangles where a big problem, I had no room for them until I found this solution. Glass Coca-Cola bottles! Works a treat & looks funky.
Necklaces hang on the other side of my dresser mirror, this is ok can look a bit messy but I can see them & find what I want fairly easy. All though not sure how much more I’ll be able to fit on there!
Hope this may have helped you with organising your bedroom & your precious items.
